“Ghost of the Currents” has received the Popple Pictures Award at Docs by the Sea.
At first, I felt that simply being selected at Docs by the Sea was already an award in itself. This was our first documentary film lab, and it was such a wonderful experience to develop our film by the beach in Bali with our lovely mentor, Zeynep Güzel.
But then we actually won this award! Thank you so much to Armi Rae Cacanindin and Popples Pictures for seeing our project as promising and offering us one year of consultation. This means so much to us because a hybrid project is really challenging, and having Popples Pictures, that have produced both documentary and fiction, supporting us as consultants is just perfect for us.
Thank you to our amazing team: Producer Napakarn Boontarig, Co-director Kalil Pitsuwan, Editor Beer Nisarat, and those who were behind the trailer, Panisa Khueanphet, Thanakrit Duangmaneeporn, and of course, Ka-ge Mulvilai.
